Rudyard Kipling's "How The Camel Got His Hump"
May 23, 2006 11:30 AM PDT
A pleasant "Just So" story that is fairly short (approx. 10 min.), and has a poem at the end. It addresses the "dangers" of excessive idleness in a light hearted way. I have also recorded a quick introduction to the story that gives a few more details.

Podcast SummaryWell known and not so well known stories for your children and for those of you lucky enough to still be children at heart. About mr_hI'm a Dad (3 children), Husband, and Storyteller. In that order, really. I've been volunteering at a local elementary school for over 14 years and have been an active trained and certified Junior Great Books teacher/leader for the last 9 years. The past 4 years I have been a UIL Storytelling Competition coach for 2nd and 3rd graders and I am a charter member of the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum Storyteller's Guild. My favorite story to tell is The Battle Of Midway which I tell primarily at the Bush Library but have performed other places as well. I strongly believe we need to take VERY good care of the children because they're worth it, and of course because they will be running the world when we are no longer able to.
